The Beatitudes : True Christian Happiness

this is something i wana share ....

The teaching of the 8 Beatitudes is a blueprint for Christian Holiness. These 8 beatitudes point to us what the Will of Gof is in our lives. This is not the same as the usual practice of Christian Piety

To whom the Lord has in mind in the teaching of the right Beatitudes? Without doubts, our Lord referred to Himself, His Blessed Mother and St. Joseph, His chosen 12 disciples and all the saints to come.

The teaching of the beatitudes will make one a true follower of Jesus if it is observed faithfully and not compromisingly.

Upon one time or another, and more should the occasions arise, or whenever the demands are made on us to give up our comfort zone in oreder to put up with persecution or the necessary price of suffering in order to follow Jesus, one looks to the beatitudes for guidance.

  1. The Poor in Spirit belongs to all those who look to God as their source of everything that constitutes life and happiness. As a consequent of it, he is prepared to cling on to the values of Christ and forgo all others that are an obstacle. In that regard, such a person belongs wholly to Christ and to His reign.

  2. Gentleness is best seen as meekness. To be meek is to be gentle in the face of cruelty insults, sufferings and even disappointments. The best example is Christ, the meek lamb that was led to be slaughtered. Christian gentleness is not the same in understanding as the secular notion of being a gentleman. It is not even to be regarded as a sign of cowardice. it is the whole interior disposition of surrendering to God because God asks of it. It is the interior strength of a soul, not weakness. The meek person is in control of himseld and the outer surrounding. When such person is focus and control, he has control of the ground in which he stands tall before God and man.

  3. To mourn is not about lamenting inthe secular sense. To mourn is the long for something that is not yet present to all that God desires for us. With all our yearning for God's Kingdom to come when all is made new and beautiful, this unsettled disposition on our part, God has a way to fill us with hope and consolation that we are comforted in the Spirit.

  4. To hunder and to thirst..these are strong human urges that long to be satisfied in every sense of the word. If we understand this, we must move on to a higher plain, the Divine Righteousness. As the saying goes, ' Give to God what is right, not what is left'. Do the right thing, and not to do things right.

  5. We give mercy, human though we are, without perfection. In return, God will grant us Divine Mercy in perfection in exchange for our very human investment.God ask that we give what we can, the better we can better give, and the best with His divine strength given to us, so that more and more, our giving becomes Divine. God ask that we give, not to be successful in our giving, but to be ever faithful.

  6. To be pure in heart is to have God's interest in purity of thought, word and deed. It is to be single-minded and single-hearted for one purpose. Purity of heart is not a divided heart. With this purity that is wholly given to God, it is not wonder that we see the way God see. the human heart understand better the language of the Spirit than it can speak. So in the same way, the human heart that belongs wholly to God, 'sees' all that is God, not in the physical or biological way, but in the Spirit.

  7. Peace is an attribute that belongs to God than to a human person. Only when a person is in harmony with God, that person will have peace: so that he is at peace with himself, at peace with his fellowmen and at peace with God. In the true sense of the word, a person of peace belongs to God. he becomes a child of God when he gives peace at all times and situations. He is peace and peacemaker to all. Such person reflects the Glory of God who is Shalom!

  8. Darkness and Ligh co-exist on earth but the Spiritual Light and Spiritual Darkness cannot tolerate each other. It's for this reason that the virtues of a good Christian makes the vices of a not-so-good Christian feels uncomfortable. For one, it is a painful reminder to all those who love vices, how they ought to live their life. Hence, the price to pay for being Christ-like is persecution, be it physical, verbal, mental or spiritual, the good must be prepared to face the onslaught attack. The Spiritual Consolation is to know that you belong to Christ.

Ever since Jesus entered the World, He turned the values of the World upside down. the beatitudes He taught were not for the faint-hearted, but for the strong, all those who wish to embrace His Christian values. the strong of this world will ridicule Christ's teachings and will explain those hard teachings as downright absurd. However, the strong in Spirit, will embrace them since these are the few who recognize that they are truly poor in Spirit in the first place and willmake a place for God to enter their lives.

the beatitudes have to do with attitudes forming. Once, we put on the mind of Christ, our mind will be open to see what God wants us to see, and our hearts will be open to to experience what God wants us to experience. the beatitudes are termed as true happiness for every Christian follower. If only we recognize how blessed it is to be found wanting, to be tried and put to the test, our faith will then comes alive, and it is in this blessed path that God wills us to know Him as personally alive and real.

Hi, that was a pretty illuminating post. Though I seldom agree with people who blog such things, i liked your last paragraph.
